UUID Generator
UtiliStudio Workspace ToolGenerate unique identifiers using the browser Web Crypto API. Support for versions 1, 4, 6, and 7 with bulk creation up to 10,000 IDs and instant export.
Key Capabilities
Multiple UUID Versions
Generate standard RFC 4122 version 4 random identifiers, newer RFC 9562 version 7 timestamp-ordered UUIDs, as well as version 1 and 6.
High-Volume Bulk Generation
Produce anywhere from a single UUID up to 10,000 unique identifiers in a single batch in under 20 milliseconds.
Multi-Format Export
Export batches as raw plain text (one per line), structured CSV with indices and timestamps, or formatted JSON arrays.
Format Validation & Inspection
Inspect existing UUIDs to verify canonical formatting, detect specific version bits, and check variant compliance.
How to Use UUID Generator
Select UUID version
Choose your desired UUID version, such as version 4 (random) or version 7 (timestamp-ordered).
Choose generation quantity
Specify the number of identifiers needed, from 1 to 10,000 UUIDs.
Generate identifiers
Click Generate to instantly create unique, collision-resistant identifiers.
Copy or export results
Copy single UUIDs with one click or download the entire batch as TXT, CSV, or JSON.
Practical Examples
UUID v4 (Random) vs. UUID v7 (Timestamp-Ordered)
UUID v4 provides uniform randomness, while UUID v7 encodes a millisecond timestamp prefix to optimize B-tree database indexing.

Database Primary Keys
Generate UUID v7 identifiers that sort chronologically to minimize database index fragmentation in PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQLite.
Distributed Request Tracing
Create random UUID v4 values for correlation IDs, distributed trace headers, and microservice transaction tracking.
Mock Data Generation
Quickly generate thousands of synthetic entity IDs for automated testing, seed scripts, and API prototyping.
ETL & Data Migration Pipelines
Produce clean, collision-resistant unique keys when merging disparate legacy datasets into modern warehouses.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between UUID v4 and UUID v7?
UUID v4 is generated entirely from random bits, which provides uniform unpredictability. UUID v7 embeds a Unix millisecond timestamp in the leading bits followed by random bits, allowing identifiers to naturally sort in chronological order for high-performance database indexing.
How are random numbers generated?
Identifers are produced using the browser Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues), providing cryptographically strong pseudorandom numbers directly on your device.
Which export formats are supported?
You can download or copy generated identifiers as newline-delimited plain text (.txt), comma-separated values (.csv) with index and timestamp columns, or structured JSON (.json).
